What is Catalio?
AI connects to your platforms, surfaces what they actually do, and keeps that knowledge current as your software evolves.
Extract
AI connects to your platforms and surfaces every business rule, process, and dependency — automatically.
Understand
Get a complete living specification — your "today" state with features, requirements, and coverage. Always accurate.
Evolve
Plan and deliver changes with full context. AI gap-analyzes every initiative. Your spec updates as you ship.
The legacy knowledge crisis.
Your most critical systems are the ones nobody fully understands anymore. Catalio writes the missing chapter.
Decades of logic, nowhere to find it.
- —The engineers who built your core systems retired. Their knowledge went with them.
- —Modernization projects stall because no one can map what the system actually does.
- —Business rules are buried in COBOL, stored procedures, and tribal knowledge.
- —Every migration is a high-risk bet. You don't know what you'll break.
A living spec your team can ship from.
- ✓AI extracts every rule, process, and dependency automatically.
- ✓Every modernization starts from a complete, verified picture.
One living spec for every application you own.

More than documentation.
Four capabilities, one platform — built for engineering organizations that need to know what their systems actually do.
Capture decades of business logic before it's lost.
Every rule, every process, every decision — documented and searchable. The engineers who built these systems may have left; their knowledge doesn't have to.
12 rules · 3 dependencies · nightly schedule
8 rules · state-specific · quarterly updates
5 steps · role-based · escalation paths
Turn docs into AI-ready context.
Generate accurate prompts with the business rules AI tools need to actually be useful.
"Implement invoice validation that checks tax rates per state, validates against approval thresholds from policy:tax-pol-04, and..."
Migrate without losing a single rule.
Extract from source. Map to target. Trace every requirement through implementation. Zero business-logic loss.
Living connections, end to end.
Know what changed, why it changed, and what it impacts — across every release cycle, automatically.
From legacy to modern.
Start with the systems nobody understands. Then extend to whatever you're migrating to.
What you're moving away from
What you're moving to
From connection to living spec, in six steps.
Most teams have their first application documented within days. Then the pipeline keeps running, silently, forever.
Connect your application
Link a legacy system, custom platform, or business SaaS — via repository, API, or metadata export.
Sync components
Pull in every building block — fields, endpoints, rules, objects, UI elements with full metadata.
AI enrichment
Every component gets an AI summary and semantic tags — searchable by purpose, not just name.
Extract requirements
Reverse-engineer features, requirements, and policies from your enriched inventory. This is your baseline.
Living dashboard
Your application becomes a real-time PRD — features, requirements, acceptance criteria, coverage.
Create initiatives
Plan changes against your living spec. AI gap-analysis ensures documentation always reflects today.

What is Catalio?
Catalio is a change management system with documentation as the foundation. We connect to your platforms, extract institutional knowledge with AI, and create a living system of record for how your software is built and changed — from legacy systems to modern SaaS.
What platforms does Catalio support?
Native support for Salesforce, ServiceNow, and NetSuite, plus any application with APIs or metadata access — COBOL mainframes, custom ERP, internal tools, and legacy databases. Our connector library is growing, and Catalio works with any system your team builds on.
How is Catalio different from Confluence or wikis?
Catalio extracts documentation from your platforms automatically — it's not a wiki that depends on someone writing and updating pages. It's AI-generated, human-verified living documentation that stays current as your systems change. No more stale docs.
How does the AI extraction work?
Catalio connects to your platforms and pulls in metadata, configurations, and customizations. AI analyzes each component, generates plain-language summaries and semantic tags, then structures everything into features and requirements for your team to review and verify.
How long does it take to get started?
Most organizations have their first application documented within days. Connect your system, let AI sync and enrich your components, and review the extracted specification. For enterprise-wide adoption, we recommend a phased approach starting with high-priority systems.
Does Catalio replace our existing documentation?
No — it complements and connects. Catalio becomes the source of truth for how systems are built and changed, linking to your existing docs, wikis, and artifacts rather than replacing them. Think of it as the living layer on top.
Can Catalio help with platform migrations?
Yes — that's one of our strongest use cases. Extract business rules from the source platform, map them to the target architecture, and trace every requirement through implementation. Teams report 40% faster migrations with zero business logic loss.
Is Catalio secure enough for enterprise use?
Enterprise-grade encryption at rest and in transit, role-based access control, comprehensive audit logging, and SSO support via SAML 2.0 and OAuth 2.0. Security and data protection are foundational to our platform.
What if we don't have legacy systems?
Catalio is for any organization that wants to understand and document how their software works. New platforms benefit from living documentation too — start the spec before you build, and keep it current as the system grows.
